Kahlista Left Behind on the Beach

Left Behind on the Beach

Left Behind on the beach:
Lots of lumpy castles.
Dark sand, light sand.
Slippery sand, soft, soggy sand!
Muddy, dark, dirty sand, Lying before the water.

Left behind on the beach:
Chippie packets, water bottles, peoples sandals  and swimming togs.
Books buried halfway down.
Birds sit around rubbish bins picking out rubbish.
Fish and chip wrappers, chicken and chip boxes lay everywhere.

Left behind on the beach:
Smooth sunscreen for the kids
and a pair of black sunglasses and a magazine to read for Mum
and a waterproof camera for Dad to take photos.

Left behind on the beach:
The waves smashing together,
and kids diving quietly
big waves to swim in
seeing people surfing in big and small waves.
