We went to the Panmure Library and met Mama Piri and Tau from the Museum and Ruth from the Library. First we sang a song with different greetings in maori, samoan, tongan and cook land. Next we were told a story about why the best octopus catcher looks like a rat. Finally we all got a long strip of paper and we drew our own design on a small part of the tip, we joined a few together on a string and made 4 skirts. My favourite part was when Tau was telling us the story about the octopus and rat.
