My Inside this Poem

The Unwritten

Inside this diary
hides the memories
that have never been read
never been understood

they’re hiding

they’re tired awake and waiting
day after day
staying there
desperately waiting to appear
in days to come it will be
read and shared

Even as the days pass
they fade away
but we will still feel them when they come
not today not tomorrow
but it will come one day

Will they come back to show other
children who I was
Would they remember me
Would they understand
to share it with other family members

Maybe there is only one memory
one secret
one story
one wish
and it is more than we need
it’s all in this diary

every diary in the world it like this.
